Capturing notes from Firefox into org-mode

One of the "killer-features" of emacs that's been getting buzz is org-mode

(http://www.orgmode.org). It's a do everything note taker/planning

system that every emacs user should check out.

I stumbled across a page (http://orgmode.org/worg/org-contrib/org-protocol.php) describing how to capture text/links into org files with a Firefox bookmarklet. Now whenever I want to save a snippet of information for later I just hightlight and click the bookmarklet. The information automatically is added to the proper .org file I setup.

I've been really happy using org-mode in a low-expertise sort of approach, just using it for outlining.

It's like evernote for emacs!!

Seriously, though, org-mode is a great feature.

I don't use it the way you are though as I mostly capture things to my (various) wiki(s) online. The neat thing is using Emacs as an editor for my wikis via the ItsAllText plugin on Firefox. I've become so dependent on Emacs that I fail when trying to edit something without it now.

One more thing -- Dropbox makes a great addition to this -- keep your .org files in Dropbox and you can access them from anywhere!
